Because I want to remember that God's path is perfect, even when it isn't straight, flat, easy, or how I would have planned it.

The building process
From time to time I like to share some words of wisdom that I have gleaned from others. Tonight, I'd like to pass on to you some words from C.S. Lewis.
"Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuilt that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing so you are not surprised. But presently, He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominable and does not seem to make any sense.
What on earth is He up to?
The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards.
You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage, but He is building a palace.
He intends to come and live in it Himself."

A prayer from Betty Stam
"Lord, I give up my own plans and purposes, all my own desires, hopes and ambitions, and I accept Thy will for my life. I give up myself, my life, my all, utterly to Thee, to be Thine forever. I hand over to Thy keeping all of my friendships; all the people whom I love are to take second place in my heart. Fill me now and seal me with Thy Spirit. Work out Thy whole will in my life at any cost, for to me to live is Christ. Amen."

I live in a small town. Today's excitement at work is a building across the street being demolished. And not just any building. A pre-1800 log home that had been covered in clapboard and most recently was occupied by four different renters (four apartments). The first picture is at 10:19 AM. The second picture is at 11:26 AM
