40 lps entrada
100-150 lps round trip cost in moto-taxi since it's a few km outside of the town, but it's a gorgeous place. Make sure to go as the sun is lowering if you want good pictures.
Ideal if you want a shorter outing after a long day.
Because I want to remember that God's path is perfect, even when it isn't straight, flat, easy, or how I would have planned it.

Macaw Mountain (Copan)
If you want to visit Copan, this wildlife center is a must do. Cost is 240 lps for adults, and you will enjoy learning about how they rescue and rehabilitate macaws, parrots, and other birds to eventually release them back to the wild.
Because of Covid, currently they do not let you hold the birds (the disinfectant gel we use can harm them), but you can still get some beautiful shots sitting right next to them.

Rawacala part 2
Here's the deck area and the waterfalls. As you can imagine, depth and force of water depends on how much it has been raining recently, but even still it will be an enjoyable experience.
Also, it's clear mountain water. Don't expect warm. 😁 but do expect clean, see through water.

Rawacala Day Trip
I would like to introduce you to Rawacala. An hour and a half away from where I live, this nature reserve has a little bit of everything. It's off the beaten path (some might say, hidden gem) so there's not yet a ton of people going there.
There's a 200 lempira entrance fee, but the cost is totally worth it, since they also have and maintain decently clean bathrooms, cold water showers, and soap to wash hands.
The reserve has a Mirador, which is a look out that you can get to by going up 439 steps (we counted them). It has a nice view of the sea.
They also offer guided hiking and zip-lining, though these are offered at an additional price.
The best feature is the first waterfall that you can get to with an easy-level pathway. If you go in weekdays, they don't offer food, so you will have to bring your own water and food, but there's a nice deck area by the waterfall with tables where one can sit and enjoy the waterfall.
The next post will share some photos of that area.
